Stagecoach.... Why has it taken me so freakin' long to meet you!? 

I would say my first year attending stagecoach was a GREAT success! It just made me sad to think I have been missing out on this amazingness for so many other years!

Great music, great friends, fun games, dancing, cowboys and 'Merica (yes that's you have to say it out there!)..... I mean what could be better!?

Just ridiculous amounts of fun. I'm already counting down the days 'til next year!

Spring Training

This past weekend, we drove out to AZ for a little family spring training weekend. A whole weekend of baseball.... which was actually really fun! I was worried it was going to be too much baseball, game after game, but it wasn't! We went to 3 different games, spaced out one on each day. It was great and the weather was ridiculous! Hot and sun shin gin the whole time, I was in heaven.

Here is another look from Seattle. I layered a slouchy silver sweater over my long sleeve black maxi dress that I posted on awhile back. Then.... my fav part..... I added some black, chunky knit fingerless gloves! I mean, how cute are they!? Really..... 

I was so stoked when I found these gloves. I had a very specific idea in mind when I was shopping for them (thank goodness I have a patient husband). I really wanted them to be black, long, and go straight across on the knuckle area, not the fingerless ones that still have finger holes, ya know!?

As most of you know, I love peace signs! What!? Ha, Can you tell from my signature and wrist tattoo!? :) Anyways, this necklace screamed "Kara!" with the cute peace heart, so of course my mom nailed it when she gave this to me for Christmas. Love love love it! I wear it constantly. 

And I can't end this post without talking about the beautiful views of the city from this shoot..... so gorgeous! We shoot this look at Kerry Park, a great spot to view the city from. I just love the Space Needle, so iconic of Seattle.

Ok, so lets take it back to Seattle, WA for this post, which has now become my second home (since its where my husband is from).

Pike Place Market..... I'm obsessed! Probably one of my fav spots in Seattle. Its the coolest market with tons of amazing fresh flowers, fruits/veggies and of course, seafood..... all locally sourced. It really is a spot you MUST check out if you go to Seattle. 

And bonus, Rachel's Ginger Beer (previous post here) is right next to the market! Score, I mean whats better than shopping around the market, maybe grabbing a bread bowl of chowder and then stopping for a delicious cocktail after!? NOTHING! :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! The hubby and I are here in Seattle for tyne holidays visiting his fam. Its been an awesome vacay so far! I'm really hoping to get some good shopping in the next few days.... gotta check out all those after Christmas sales right!?

Anyways, this shot was from last month in Ka'uai. And since I'm freezing my booty off here in Seattle......[it was like 30-something on Christmas here, while back home my fam said it was 80! So 30-something is pretty damn cold for my California blood haha].....I thought I would heat things up a bit with a tropical post!

This bikini is AWESOME! Its made by Tavik, a super cool brand that started right in Orange County. They have some really killer suits and the guys stuff is way cool too. I love the print and cut of this suit.... it has a great bottom fit. I am a big fan of a slightly smaller bottom cut showing a hint of booty but not too small that you can see it all..... gotta leave a bit to the imagination right!? But I think showing a little more skin can be a good thing, done the right way of course!

Umm, and how bad-a$$ does the pineapple look!? Oh I just love it..... but I always love me some pineapple :) After the shoot, we sliced it up, put some brown sugar and butter on it, and threw it on the grill... Heaven in your mouth, let me tell ya! Yu-mmy! And that backdrop..... STUNNING!

Ok, I'm off to check out some sales and spend some more time with family!!

Carry-On Essentials

Today has been spent preparing for our trip back to Seattle for the holidays. I've got lists going all around the house...... take this down, put that away, clean that up, pack that and so on and so on. I love list, haha, yes I'm that weirdo!

So WTH to pack in your carry-on!? Here are my carry-on essentials to help make the crowded flight a little more enjoyable:

• Laptop... on the plane is a perfect time to get caught up on writing some blog posts!
• iPhone.... to play games after I make it through all the gossip mags, which usually only takes 10 mins :)
• Socks.... to keep those tootsies warm and cozy! Plus, how rad are these Stance socks!?
• Headphones.... so you can listen to music or the movie if the flights long enough
• Passport.... We are taking a little trip up to Canada while up in Seattle. SOOO EXCITED!!!
• GoPro..... I love recording vacations with this camera. Its so fun to have little highlight videos to look back on.
• eos & Facial Hydrating Mist.... I never leave the house without my handy ball of chapstick.
• And of course, my super cute travel bag!! [similar here]

Well, I better get to checkin' things off my list! So much to do, so little time.... ugh [insert big sigh] and Christmas is only a few days away!!!

I loved this comfy, casual outfit I wore for our first day of exploring the city. It was easy yet stylish and on trend (with the plaid and booties). New York is on another level with fashion.... Everyone is dressed to the nines ALL the time!

My handsome hubby at the Top of the Rock!

(Sorry for the picture overload :)!!) For my birthday this year, my husband decided to take me to New York. It was such an amazing trip filled with great food, even better friends, and lots of exploring. 

We stayed at our friends place in Williamsburg, so one of the days we took the East River Ferry to the city, going under the Brooklyn bridge. Once in the city, I had a craving for some good 'ole New York pizza. While looking for a place to eat, we stumbled upon this cobblestone street that was all blocked off with picnic benches covering the whole thing. It looked like a beer garden type thing but it was all restaurants.... like a big food festival where you could sit at the benches outside each place and order your food. We found a pizza place and decided to try it and I'm so glad we did cause it was AMAZING! Its actually kinda gross how much of that big pizza my husband and I ate, but we couldn't help ourselves....It was just too delicious to stop!

After we stuffed ourselves, we walked to the 9/11 memorial site. We went through the museum, a very emotional experience! Then after, we walked across the street to the new memorial site where the old buildings used to stand. The giant "freedom tower" is incredible! It is such a massive, beautiful building! And the pools were so amazing to see as well. There are 2 of them that sit in the exact spots where the World Trade Center building previously stood. The whole area is so beautiful! It was an amazing and very moving site to see.

One of the nights, we had a big group of friends get together and go to a birthday dinner with us. It was such a random mix of people but it was so much fun! We had friends from NY and CA.... from high school and Oakley (where Evan and I both used to work). We started the night with drinks at this really cool speak easy type place called Beauty and Essex. The place was so cool....and for any ladies that make their way there, you have to make a stop in the bathrooms! Sounds weird, but totally worth it.... They serve you pink champagne! Plus its just a really cool looking bathroom, no surprise when you see the whole place though. Then we made our way to dinner at yet another really cool place, Freeman's. Its totally off the beaten path, down this ally but once you step inside, its this amazing place with great drinks and awesome food!

On our last day, Evan and I took to the city for some more exploring. We went to Grand Central, watched some of the big Columbus day parade, and walked around Central Park. We stopped by Magnolias to get a birthday cupcake (OMG! they are soooo delicious!!) and ate them at Rockefeller Center. After, we went to the "Top of the Rock" to see the stunning views in all directions. It was truly an amazing place to see the entire city from above. 

NYC is such an amazing city with way too many delicious places to get food. I cant even begin to tell you all about the many places we went to eat and get drinks. Our friends definitely know the hot spots and where to go! I cant wait to go back and see even more of this amazing city.
