Engagement Photo Shoot

Friday, April 26, 2013

We finally got around to taking some engagement photos yesterday. It only took us over a year to do these but it was well worth the wait. I am thrilled with the way they turned out!
And here they are...... :)

A big thanks to Mike Griffith and Wonderland Weddings for making this happen!
Also, thanks to my handsome fiancé for the awesome photo editing.

Enjoy!

Taco Tuesday!

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

I love a good taco Tuesday and living here in southern California, there's no shortage of good options!
Now while my fiance and I love to go out for taco Tuesday, we do occasionally stay in and make our own little fiesta right at home.
Here is a recipe I love to make (even not on Tuesdays), TACO SALAD!
Its easy and so delicious.

Ingredients:

  • Salad
  • Tortilla chips
  • Salsa
  • Mayo
  • Cheese
  • Ground beef
  • Taco seasoning
  • Olives
  • Kidney beans, drained
Brown ground beef until fully cooked.
Add taco seasoning (follow instructions on packet).
Add kidney beans. For this step, add as little or as many as you want, no measuring in this recipe!
Also, add some tortilla chips at this time. Again, as ma as you want.

Mix well!

While the meat mixture is cooking, you can make the dressing for the salad.
In a small bowl, mix salsa and mayo together.
I usually start with less mayo, taste, then add more if needed. It really just depends on if you want a more salsa taste or a bit more creamy taste.
Finished salsa.

Now it's time to assemble your taco salad!

Start by putting the salad in bowls.

Next, spoon meat mixture on top of salad.

Add your dressing.

Finish with some black olives, a handful of crushed up tortilla chips, and cheese (if desired).
As you can see, I left the cheese off mine but since my future husband loves cheese, I piled it on his!

Serve with Margaritas or ice cold beer!
Enjoy!

Spring Outfit Inspiration

Thursday, April 11, 2013

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, things have been crazy busy around our house as the big wedding day is nearing.
Anyways, spring is upon us (hopefully the weather starts reflecting spring a bit more) and its time to change up the wardrobe and bust out the lighter, flowy tops , dresses, and shorts!
Here are a few outfit inspirations.

1. Easy the season transition by sticking with a few darker pieces mixed in with shorts and lighter colors.
2. You can never go wrong with a bright color maxi!

For those days when you feel like you still might need pants.
1. Try a hippie top with flares jeans and fringe.
2. Distressed super flares, wedges, and a muscle graphic tank give a more edgy look.

1. Printed shorts and a pastel tank give a light breezy look.
2. Surfer chic: cut-offs, graphic tank, mirrored sunglasses, and printed tennis are perfect! Throw all your  stuff into a fun printed backpack and put on a bright colored layered watch to complete the look.

Stay tuned for more spring inspiration to come!

Enjoy!

K
