Heat up this winter with these cozy-chic must-haves.

Sweatshirts- Try the fashion sweatshirt trend this winter! It will keep you cozy and comfortable while taking your look to a whole new level.

Army Parka- This tomboy-chic jacket is the perfect addition to any outfit.... From jeans and tee to a dress and tights.

Slouchy Beanie- A wardrobe staple, the slouchy beanie is an absolute must this winter. Not only will it keep you warm, but it adds that extra cuteness especially if you go for a bold, standout color like electric yellow or leopard.

Boots- You can't go wrong with a good pair of boots! Whether it be a cute little bootie, a chic moto style boot, or the classic knee high, you are sure to look hot this winter.

Eye-Catching Coat- What better way to add some pizazz to your look than pairing it with a standout coat!? Not only will a bright color or fun print brighten your mood, but it will also make you stand out in the usual sea of neutrals.

Hope everyone is having a great week getting ready for Thanksgiving!! We are in Kauai and its just been awesome! The weather has been great and the water is still so warm. I hope it stays like this for the rest of the week! No rain please!! :)

Jacket: Nordstrom (no longer available), also found at ASOS
Pants: Alloy, similar here
Booties: Forever 21
Sunglasses: Nordstrom

Happy Friday!!! So this jacket.... What can I say besides I LOVE LOVE LOVE this jacket! It is so soft and cozy. I love wearing it when I travel because it feels like I'm wearing a blanket :) Here I paired it with leather pants for an edgy look but I also like wearing it more casual with a t-shirt and jeans. I found these leather pants at Alloy awhile back and love them! They offer many of their pants in tall sizes so I was able to order them in a longer length, which is helpful when you're 5'10 like I am.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We are packing today for our thanksgiving family trip to Kauai..... so excited!! I haven't been to the island of Kauai before so I'm excited to check it out. I hear its just beautiful and so so green with amazing hiking and waterfalls :) Can't wait!

Pretty in Pink

Coat: Similar here
Tee: Nordstrom
Shoes: Forever 21
Necklace: H&M

Leaves are changing colors and the air is getting crisp.... Yep, it's starting to really feel like fall around here (finally). Time to bust out the cute coats to keep warm while out and about! This pink coat has been in my closet for YEARS and it still looks like new, so vibrant. I love pairing it with a simple white tee and jeans to let the pop of pink take the spotlight. To add some extra statement, I threw on one of my fav bold jeweled necklaces and a fun multi patterned clutch. And I love these sneaker wedges I picked up from Forever 21 several months back. Since they are super trendy, I didn't want to drop a ton of money on them (like ASH that go for $234). So when I found these, and they looked almost identical for around $30, I thought, why yes I will try this trend! :)

Long Sleeve Maxi

Vest: Anne Taylor LOFT (old), similar here
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I wanted to share this look from last week with you all.... I'm loving this long sleeve black maxi dress! It is so versatile and comfy. You can dress it up for a more fancy evening out (how awesome is the open back for a peek-a-boo of sexy!?) or keep it casual with booties and a great faux fur vest. I got my vest as a gift from my wonderful mother-in-law a few years ago for Christmas, and I just love, love, love it!! This is a really easy fall look, perfect for this cooler weather we have been getting :) And you gotta love the knuckle clutch. Holding it makes you feel like such a bad-ass haha! My grandma gave it to me awhile back so i'm not sure where it actually came from but there are lots of different versions out there right now.

Oh, and how cool is this field we shot this look in!? My husband and I found this place awhile back when we were scouting locations for our engagement pics. Love the wide open space..... especially with the contrast of the black dress.

Movember

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

Fun video Evan made of shaving off his burly beard on Nov. 1 this year!

I know we are already half way through November but I still want to share this with all of you.... Movember! For those of you who don't know about about Movember, its a charity that raises money for men's cancers/health. October is commonly know as breast cancer awareness month so November is now for men's health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer.

How does it work? Well, Movember is a chance for men all around the world to get involved in raising awareness  and funds for cancers that affect men by growing a mustache for the 30 days of November. "Mo Bros", as they are called, start the month clean shaven. Then they grow and groom their 'stache, asking friends and family to donate to their efforts. It brings conversation to the topic everywhere they go!

But ladies, don't feel left out! You too can be a part of Movember by becoming a "Mo Sista". You can sign up and raise money as well, just not grow the 'stache.... hopefully! :)

My husband gets involved with this every year, growing a mustache (if you know him, he can grow a mean 'stache!!) and even forming a Mo-team to raise money. You can donate to his page HERE. It really is an amazing cause that hits home for our family especially since my step-dad got diagnosed with prostate cancer a few years ago. Luckily, his scans have been clear now but it is still something that we are aware of everyday and want to help share that awareness through this fun charity! Please check out the site and if you can, donate to Evan and his team. :)

Baseball Tee

Monday, November 4, 2013

Top: H&M
Pants: Alloy
Booties: Lulu's

Over the weekend, the hubby and I decided to go for a little afternoon motorcycle ride. It was such an amazing day for a ride, sunny but still a bit crisp.... perfecto! We stopped off at a view point right above Dana Point Harbor to take some pics.... such a beautiful view, sprawling ocean as far as the eye can see.

Anyways, about the outfit.... This shirt was a great find at H&M in New York last month. I had been looking for a cute, comfy baseball style tee for awhile so when I saw this one with a "B" on it (for my last name), I HAD to buy it! I paired it here with zippered ankle skinny jeans and tan booties. But you can wear with leggings and sneakers or dress it up a bit with black leather pants and heels.

Hope everyone is off to a great start with their week! I head off to Lake Havasu, AZ in the morning to help my grandma pack up her vacation home that she just sold out there. Should be a fun little trip with her, just hope its not to hot while we are working away!

Halloween

Friday, November 1, 2013

This year for Halloween we kept it kinda mellow.... but that didn't stop us from dressing up of course! :) I decided to go with Risky Business and Evan went with the German shorty shorts, which went quite nicely with his gnarly beard. He had to shave it all off this morning though for the start of Movember. He has a cute little baby face today!! Anyways, back to Halloween.... We went over to our friends house for dinner and passing out candy to trick-or-treaters since we really don't get any at our house, which bums me out. But there were a good amount that came by our friends house last night so we were happy!

Hope you all had a great Halloween!
