DIY: Succulent Bottle Stopper

Tuesday, March 24, 2015

Today I'm sharing a little DIY project I did last weekend.... A succulent bottle stopper!

Ok, so I know this is a SUPER easy, kinda no brainer DIY but the result is so cute and decorative, I couldn't resist this post.

I'm so big on succulents (and cactus, but those wouldn't be the nicest to work with, OUCH!) these days. I want to put them everywhere.... in my house, in my yard (hello California friendly), you name it, and I'm probably putting a succulent there :)

So I thought "How cute would one of these little succulents be on the top of a wine cork as a bottle stopper!?" And so began this little DIY.

What you'll need:

- Corks

- Faux Succulents ( I got mine from Hobby Lobby)

- Hot glue gun

- Bottle of wine (optional but delicious!)

+ Place a decent sized drop of glue on the top of the cork. You'll want to put the glue on the wider end of the cork so that the narrower end can be placed into the bottle.

+ Firmly press the succulent into the drop of glue until it is secure and dry.

+ Ta-Da!!! cute succulent bottle stoppers! (See, told ya it was easy!)

Booties (sold out), but love these!

Faux Fur Vest (old)

Hope you all had a wonderful St. Paddy's day!

St. Paddy's day is a very special holiday for my husband and I... It's the anniversary of our first date! Yes, we spent our first date wearing goofy green outfits and drinking green beer with shots of whiskey on the side (we were wild back then! haha). It was such a fun night that I will never forget :)

So of course, every St.Paddy's day we have to dress up in green and go celebrate the day that changed our lives forever (so dramatic, I know!) in the best way possible. Last night marked 6 years together, woohoo!!! We kept it pretty mellow, seeing as it was a Tuesday and we both had to work today, and walked down the street to a local Irish bar/restaurant. We enjoyed a beer and some traditional Irish food. Evan got the fish and chips and I opted for the Shepard's pie, YUM!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!

Being honest, this last year was a bit of a rough one for me and my family.... not the whole year but it sure seemed like an emotional roller coaster. Don't get me wrong, the year had plenty of great moments that I am so thankful for!

I'm very excited to begin a fresh start on the new year. I feel like 2015 has big things in store! So stay tuned :)

Thanks so much for reading and sticking by me through this last year.

Hope you all have a safe and fun New Years!

XO,
K

TomBoy Chic

Get the look:
Leather Jacket //  Pants // Beanie // Boots

Happy friday loves!

Ok, lets talk about this look.... this jacket is to die! Every girl needs a great leather jacket hang in in their closet and this one is a serious score at under $100. The leather is so soft and the cut is feminine yet edgy. It also has a bit of padding in the shoulders (hello 80's!) which I am loving!

I paired my stunner of a jacket with high waisted black skinnies and a simple white tee. Throw in some gorg boots (remember these bad boys!?) and a fun beanie to complete this tomboy chic look.

And on a side note, how awesome is the VW bus!? The hubby and I bought it several years ago and finally have it up and running. It's so fun to take out for a drive along the coast and head down to the beach for the day and camp out.

We have been talking about painting it but can't decide what color.... What do you guys think? I would to hear from your suggestions. :)

XO,
K

One Year Anniversary

Sunday, May 25, 2014

Today, Evan and I celebrate our one year anniversary! What a year its been.... amazing. I couldn't be happier and this year has made something very clear to me.... I was meant to be a wife, Evan's wife! I love it and know that its because I found such an amazing man to spend my life with.

Ok, so here comes the mushy lovey stuff.....

My husband..... He is such an incredible man.  He is so smart, funny (man, can he make me laugh!), sincere and caring. He makes me want to be a better person. It was the best decision I have ever made marrying him. He is the best husband. I love him with my whole heart and his happiness is my everything. I love being his wife and look forward to the rest of our life together, now more than ever.
