Fall Hair Trend: Straight

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Straight hair is a classic look that looks great at all lengths. For fall, try the straight trend for a simple and sleek look. Add some extra shine to pin straight hair for a polished finish or more movement for a flirty, natural looking 'do.

To get super sleek, pin straight locks, try a deep conditioning treatment before hand to get gorgeous shine and minimize the look for dry, split ends. Then blow dry straight and run a flat iron down your tresses. Finish with a shine spray.

It's simple and sexy!

Fall Hair Trend: Deep Side Part

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Pair a deep side part with soft waves for a classic look.

... or let the curls be wild and free!

Tease the crown and sweep bangs to the side.

Get a fresh faced look by pushing hair off your face.

Slick back by smoothing out the top and tucking behind your ears. Leave the rest soft and touchable.

Give your deep side part an edgy twist by braiding one side back.

I'm loving this deep side part trend for fall. I normally part my hair straight down the middle so switching to a deep side part is an easy and quick way to freshen up my look.

Not sure how deep to go? Use your brow as a guide..... Divide hair directly above the arch of your brow. Then just decide what look you want to go for; Classic, Slicked back, Fresh faced, Volume, or Edgy. So many possibilities to try and enjoy this season!

Fall Hair Trend: Braids

Friday, September 13, 2013

Milkmaid

Side Braid

Fishtail Braid

Small Front Braid

Single, long Braid

Halo Braid

Fall is approaching..... OK well maybe the weather here in So-Cal isn't reflecting it but I thought I would post about a few fall hair trends I'm seeing, the first being Braids! I'm loving this trend and have been trying all different ways recently. This is a perfect style for second or third (if you can make it that long) day hair. A trick for making your braid look thicker?? After you create your braid, place the elastic a bit lower than where you stopped braiding. Place one hand holding the braid at the elastic and use the other hand to pull gently on small pieces throughout the braid to "fluff" it up. You can also add some clip in extensions to thicken up the braid, no matter how thick your own hair is!

Hope you all had a great week and are ready for the weekend! :) Have fun!

Garlic Toast Pizza

Monday, September 9, 2013

Ingredients:
Garlic Toast Slices
Pizza Sauce
Mozzarella Cheese
Pepperoni Slices

Pre- heat the oven according to the directions on the toast box.
Place frozen toast on a baking sheet.
Spread pizza sauce onto toast slices.
Sprinkle cheese on top.
Top with pepperoni.
Place in oven and bake until cheese is melted (I cooked mine for 10 mins).
Enjoy!

I made these delicious little pizzas for lunch for my hubby the other day. We love Texas Toast so I thought why not use it to make personal pizza slices!? They were super easy and really yummy! Add a salad on the side and you have a great lunch.

Game Day Yums

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

With football season starting tomorrow (YAY!), I figured I would post a few ideas for football munchies that I've been looking at on Pinterest. We are also attending a friends "First Football Sunday" party on Sunday, so I'm collecting ideas of what to make for that also. There are so many fun, creative ideas out there!

Since the first round of games on Sunday start at 10am, I thought it would be fun to do a "Make you own Bloody Mary Bar". I have been wanting to try making a homemade bloody mary mix instead of just buying store bought, so Sunday might be the perfect opportunity to try it!

One of my fav dips to make for any kind of party is the Jalapeño Dip with Ritz crackers. I was introduced to this gem of a dip by my sister and let me tell ya, it's AWESOME! Big hit! The only tricky part is making it with the jalapeños..... they are super gnarly and burn your hands, anything you touch, and your eyes when cutting them (way worse than onions!). I highly suggest wearing gloves for that part of the prep. For a BBQ we had just this past weekend for Labor Day, I made 2 of this dip.... one with bacon and one without for the vegetarians. Both are delicious, but the bacon one seems to be the bigger hit!

The little chocolate covered strawberry footballs are so cute for a dessert option. I might have to make some for Sunday and put them on a cute platter with a field goal post in the middle. How cute would that look!?

Do you guys have any game day favorites or go-to's?? I wanna hear 'em so don't hesitate to leave comments! Hope everyone is having a good, short week.... its already hump day! Side note- Has everyone seen the camel hump day commercial!? It's sooo stinkin' funny...... "Mike, Mike, Mike, Guess what day it is? Hump Daaay!" Hahaha :)
